Watch as Timo Werner and Kai Havertz both score leaving Chelsea fans drooling over link up next season after transfer

CHELSEA fans have been left drooling over the prospect of Timo Werner and Kai Havertz linking up next season after both aces netted in the Bundesliga.

Werner rifled home RB Leipzig’s second goal on 62 minutes over Dusseldorf while Havertz found the net for the seventh time in seven outings to put the Blues on red alert.

Timo Werner doubled RB Leipzig’s lead with a screamer on 63 minutes
Kai Havertz’s goal has made him the youngest player to score 36 goals at his age in the Bundesliga

The Leipzig star became the first German player to score over 26 goals in a single Bundesliga campaign since Mario Gomez in 2011, after doubling his side’s lead in a 2-2 home draw against Dusseldorf on Wednesday.

And Bayer Leverkusen hotshot Havertz, took his top-flight goal tally to 36 after slotting home in a 3-1 win over Cologne in the Rhine derby.

The scintillating performances from both Chelsea targets pricked up ears in West London – with Stamford Bridge supporters taking to Twitter to show their delight.

Werner’s switch to Chelsea is waiting to be finalised with Blues medical staff unable to fly to Germany to carry out tests because of the government’s 14-day quarantine period being enforced upon their return.

The 24-year-old’s £53million release clause expired on Tuesday but the Blues reportedly still have a chance of getting a discount.

Arsenal goalkeeper Bernd Leno welcomed the news of his international team-mate’s arrival to London but warned Gunners fans his “killer instinct” could make the West London side title contenders.

The German hotshot could be joined at Stamford Bridge by compatriot Havertz, but negotiations for the Bayer Leverkusen midfielder have reportedly stalled over the £90million asking price.

And the Blues suffered another blow after it was revealed that the youngster would prefer a switch to the Spanish capital, as it will give him a chance to play alongside his idol Toni Kroos.

His impressive run of seven goals in as many games since German football’s restart has emphasised his talents, with seven international caps already to his name.

It’s no surprise that Manchester United and Barcelona are also keeping close tabs on the playmaker’s situation.

Club CEO Fernando Carro told Kölner Stadt-Anzeiger: “With Kai Havertz, I see that many clubs are interested in him.

“Kai has been with us for ten years. I see the player’s desire to take the next step some time in the near future.

“You have to try to find a solution where the player’s goal can be reconciled with ours.

“No one can say for sure what is going to happen at the moment.”
