Watch Chelsea star Christian Pulisic slammed for ‘worst Griddy I’ve ever seen’ as fans mock Lille goal celebration

CHRISTIAN PULISIC’S ‘Griddy’ goal celebration in Tuesday’s 2-0 Champions League win over French champions Lille is the ‘worst’ fans have ‘ever seen.’

The Blues made light work of the French outfit thanks to goals by Kai Havertz and Pulisic.

The American scored in the second half to seal the first leg win

The second half strike puts Chelsea in the driving seat for the tie

And Thiago Silva expertly marshalled the backline, pocketing highly rated duo Jonathan David and Renato Sanches.

But after Pulisic’s second half strike helped strengthen Chelsea‘s grip on the Round of 16 tie, the American tried to pull off the Griddy dance to celebrate.

But Pulisic’s poor attempt at the dance was one of the ‘worst’ fans have seen.

One fan said on Twitter: “That was genuinely the worst Griddy i’ve ever seen.”

Another said: “Love you Pulisic but never Griddy again.”

Pulisic’s fantastic supporting role for Havertz has given boss Thomas Tuchel a selection headache ahead of Sunday’s Carabao Cup final against Liverpool.

The German admitted he dropped seven-touch Romelu Lukaku as he ‘struggled in the last games’ with the intensity.

Tuchel said: “The focus was today on intensity, high-speed game and also hard work off the ball to have intensive team work.

“Romelu struggled in the last games a little bit to deliver that.

“That’s what I meant when I said [before the game] he was a little bit tired.

“Not only mentally tired but physically tired, which I can understand. It is like this.

“Today we went for three other players. Kai is in very good shape and gives a lot of high-intensity metres for the team.

“For Sunday, we have four days to recover and of course [Lukaku] has every chance to play.

“It was not the moment after a match where everybody was focused on the few touches that he had to put him right away into the next fire.

“It was the moment to take a step back, that was the decision and that’s it.

“We have now a strong win, a strong performance and almost every question is about Romelu so the focus is huge.

“There are like nine other players who did not play. We should never forget that we consider this a team sport.”
