Watch David Luiz’s calamitous defending in Arsenal’s 3-2 loss to Brentford as fans joke they’re going to be relegated

ARSENAL fans joked they are going to get relegated after a video of David Luiz’s horror show defending during their 3-2 defeat to Brentford emerged yesterday.

The Gunners lost to their West London neighbours on Wednesday afternoon at the Emirates in their second warm up game in preparation for the Premier League return.

Arsenal fans joked they are going to be relegated after a video emerged of David Luiz’s horror show defending

But it was their Brazilian centre-back who got all the attention after the match but for all the wrong reasons.

With Arsenal leading 1-0 in the second-half the footage starts with Luiz on the ball just inside his own half.

But the 33-year-old is quickly pressured by two Brentford players and as he tries to flick it over one of their heads, he is easily muscled of the ball and the Bees break.

Matteo Guendouzi is beaten in the middle of the park before it finds its way out to the left where Tarique Fosu worked some space in the box before smashing it high into the net.

Lacazette put Arteta’s side ahead again with a smart turn and finish.

But late goals from Halil Dervisoglu and Shandon Baptiste sealed the win for the Bees.

And fans online were quick to mock Luiz for his gaffe.

Tarique Fosu eventually smashed it into the net to make it 1-1 in the game the Gunners eventually lost 3-2

One simply tweeted: “Arsenal gonna get relegated.” Followed by several cry laughing emojis.

Another added: “I still think Arsenal can be relegated within 10 years with the decline slope we are on.

“Premier League teams will run us harder than Brentford done.”

Before a Spurs fan replied to another comment and wrote: “Good luck, I’ll be laughing to death next season when Arsenal get relegated.”

Centre-back William Saliba – currently on loan at Saint Etienne – will join up with the North Londoners ahead of next season.

And they were also recently linked with Paris Saint Germain star Thiago Silva as they look to replace the ageing Luiz.

The Gunner thrashed Charlton 6-0 in their first warm up match on Saturday ahead of their first Premier League game back – away at Manchester City on June 17.
