Watch Gabriel Jesus struggle to walk in knee brace as Arsenal star posts injury update video in the gym

ARSENAL star Gabriel Jesus struggled to walk in his knee brace as he hit the gym to continue his recovery from surgery.

The striker sustained an injury while playing at the World Cup with Brazil and he has since gone under the knife.

Jesus faces another possible two months on the sidelines and while he is out, the 25-year-old has been trying to keep fit.

The former Manchester City man uploaded a video to his Instagram page showing his rehabilitation.

He can be seen in the clip hobbling around the gym wearing a brace on his knee.

Jesus also did plenty of exercises such as lifting weights and stretching his injured knee.

During his upper body workouts he is wearing the protection on the hurt area.

However, he does take off the brace and he was even able to bend the knee on top of putting slight weight on it when required.

To strengthen the injured right leg, he stepped up onto a gym box, did squats and practised lifting it up off the ground for a stretch.

The upload has received support from team-mates Martin Odegaard and Gabriel Magalhaes, both wishing him all the best with his recovery.

It was just before Christmas when Jesus arrived at the Gunners’ training ground walking with crutches but he recently hinted that they have been ditched.

Eddie Nketiah is currently replacing him in the Arsenal starting XI but as Mikel Arteta‘s men aim to secure a first Premier League title in 19 years – Jesus is a big miss.

He netted five goals and got seven assists in his 20 appearances before the World Cup break.

After the league leaders beat West Ham on Boxing Day 3-1, Arteta said on Jesus’ injury: “With Gabi it’s difficult to put a time frame. I never gave a date. I said that we don’t know.

“It’s going to take some time for sure. He’s gone through surgery and that tells you the extent of the injury.”

Arteta also hinted that they could sign a replacement this month, saying: “We will be in the market always active and we will assess the biggest opportunities that we have.”
