Watch Man Utd flop Bebe score rocket 30-yard free-kick for Rayo Vallecano in Copa del Rey semi-final loss to Real Betis

FORMER Manchester United flop Bebe scored an audacious free-kick in the semi-final of the Copa del Rey on Thursday.

The winger, 31, unleashed a rocket from more than 30 yards out, leaving former Manchester City goalkeeper Claudio Bravo with no chance of stopping the strike.

Bebe’s goal gave his side a shot at reaching the Copa del Rey final

It was reminiscent of James Ward-Prowse’s free-kick against Wolves earlier this season, swerving through the air before hitting the top corner.

Bebe and his team looked overjoyed with the effort as they celebrated on the touchline.

For good reason too, as the goal away at Real Betis gave Bebe and his team a great chance of reaching the final.

Unfortunately for Rayo Vallecano however, they conceded a 90th-minute equaliser meaning Betis won the tie 3-2 on aggregate.

It is not the first time Bebe has produced a bit of magic for Rayo Vallecano – last summer he scored another bending free-kick to help his side to a play-off semi-final win.

They ended up winning promotion and have now narrowly missed out on a cup final this year, with Bebe finally back on the big stage after a dreadful spell at Old Trafford.

Bebe was on Man Utd’s books from 2010 to 2014 but managed just seven appearances for the club.

A shock £7million buy under Sir Alex Ferguson, he’s widely regarded as one of the worst signing’s in the club’s history.

United fans have been reacting to his brilliant goal, with several tongue-in-cheek comments.

One fan wrote on Twitter: “Bring him back.”

Another added: “Should never have let him leave, he’d be all-time premier league top scorer by now.”

And a third said: “Form is temporary, class is permanent.”
