Watch Pep Guardiola forget hes Man City manager as he confuses club with old side Bayern Munich in press conference

PEP GUARDIOLA forgot which side he was managing in a press conference as he mistakenly referred to his Manchester City team as former club Bayern Munich.

Guardiola managed German giants Bayern for three seasons from 2013 before moving to the Etihad to take charge of Manchester City in the summer of 2016.

Pep Guardiola looked sheepish after mistakenly referring to Manchester City as former club Bayern Munich

Guardiola was speaking after Manchester City beat Burnley 4-1 and was praising the impact of summer signing Rodri after his stunner had made it 3-0 when he suffered a bizarre slip of the tongue.

He said: “I think he’s adjusted and he’s perfectly suited for this league, honestly.

“And I think Bayern Munich…Man City bought…Bayern Munich, what the f***? Man City! I don’t know what I thought!”

Potentially the stress of City’s recent slump in form scrambled the brain of their Spanish manager.

The Premier League champions had seen Liverpool go 11 points clear at the top of the league after losing at Anfield and dropping points in a 2-2 draw with Newcastle.

The nature of Liverpool’s dominance this season has led to speculation surrounding Guardiola’s City future and his father said he may return to Barcelona where he won 14 major trophies in a four year spell.

Guardiola has won two Premier League titles with Manchester City, adding to the three La Liga titles he won with Barcelona and the three Bundesliga’s he won at Bayern.

In his defence when you enjoy trophy-laden spells at every club you manage it is perhaps easy to get them confused.

Pep Guardiola didn’t know what he was thinking when he accidentally said Bayern Munich instead of Manchester City
