Watch Premier League legend break down in tears as he announces £47m transfer to Saudi Arabia before promising to return

RUBEN NEVES broke down in tears in his emotional exit video from Wolves.

The Portuguese midfielder, 26, has accepted the Saudi Arabian money and signed for Al-Hilal.

Ruben Neves said goodbye to Wolves with a video message

Midway through the clip he broke down in tears

The Saudi side paid a whopping £47million for Neves, who had just one year left on his contract in the West Midlands.

And the former Wolves captain recorded a video message to say thank you and goodbye to the club on their official Twitter account.

He went through some of his stats and highlights across his six-year spell at Molineux, including a few of his spectacular goals and a European adventure.

But after mentioning his team-mates and being captain for the final season, midway through the 3m18s video, Neves cannot contain his emotions.

He takes a deep breath but has to pause as he bends over and wipes away the tears.

Neves said to the fans: “I cannot thank you enough for the welcome.

“I cannot thank you enough for the way you treated me and mainly for the way you adopted my family as your own.

“The way you support the team is unreal.

“Now I will be one of you: a massive fan for life.

“It really feels like home here and my family will never, ever forget you.”

Neves then hinted at a possible return to Molineux.

He added: “I leave as a player but I will always be a wolf no matter what.

“I will see you in the South Bank one day. Wolves ay we. Your captain. Ruben Neves.”

Neves scored 30 goals in 253 Wolves appearances and was heavily linked with a transfer to Barcelona as he approaches the prime of his career.

However, he left many supporters disappointed by going to the Saudi Pro League, following the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema and N’Golo Kante.

The fee, though, will help Wolves massively in their attempts to reduce debt and comply with Financial Fair Play regulations.
