Footage of Rashford in his first game for five months – after suffering a stress fracture in his back – is doing the rounds on social media.

The 22-year-old terrorised Championship side West Brom and looked sharp ahead of the Red Devils’ return to competitive action.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer‘s side travel to Tottenham‘s new stadium on June 19 as the league finally returns, months after Covid-19 halted play in March.

Three Lions ace Rashford left West Brom’s Dara O’Shea for dead with a crafty turn inside the edge of the box.

He also laid on a beautifully weighted back-heel for the onrushing Brandon Williams who was fouled in the box.

Portuguese star Bruno Fernandes stepped up to slot away the spot-kick in distinctive style – reminiscent of Chelsea ace Jorginho‘s technique.

The sides contested two 60-minute games at Old Trafford and despite Rashford’s brilliance, United lost the first encounter.

The Red Devils were reportedly beaten 2-1 before getting their own back with a 3-1 win in the second game.

During the day’s action, Fernandes had another shot from the spot but fluffed his lines and failed to score, proving the hop, skip and jump method is not always effective.

The matches saw the former Sporting Lisbon skipper link up with Frenchman Paul Pogba in the United midfield for the first time.

The talented duo almost combined for a sensational goal and United fans stuck in lockdown are going wild for the ‘Brogba’ pairing.

Rashford has been earning plaudits off the pitch during lockdown for some phenomenal fundraising work.

The high-profile star has incredibly helped raise over £20million to help feed vulnerable schoolchildren amid the pandemic.

His close friend and team-mate Jesse Lingard has also been involved in admirable charity work after he announced custom ‘JLingz’ face masks that are to be sold for £12 with all proceeds going to the NHS.
