Watch Ruben Loftus-Cheek score cheeky chip in Chelsea’s second pre-season clash versus Udinese

RUBEN LOFTUS-CHEEK scored a well-taken chip in Chelsea’s second pre-season clash against Udinese.

The Blues’ second string took the field as the club faced off against the Italian side for a second consecutive day.

Loftus-Cheek was found by a fantastic pass by Mateo Kovacic

It was a wonderfully taken goal by Loftus-Cheek who switched feet at the last minute

Yesterday the main team pulled off a 3-1 victory as Raheem Sterling got his first goal for the club.

But today it was it time for Loftus-Cheek to get on the scoresheet after he and N’Golo Kante missed the US pre-season trip.

A wonderful ball by Mateo Kovacic found the 26-year-old who had dashed into the box.

Loftus-Cheek almost took the bending pass on his left foot before choosing to switch to his right.

The split-second decision worked a treat for the midfielder, who then flicked the ball over the Udinese keeper to give Chelsea the lead just before half-time.

It was a brilliantly taken goal from a player looking to impress the manager.

Loftus-Cheek played 24 matches in the Premier League last year for the Blues but failed to get register a single goal.

He did get two assists and had a few good performances but will face even more competition for first team opportunities after Conor Gallagher returned from his Crystal Palace loan.

Gallagher also started the second string game, along with other players looking to impress like Ethan Ampadu, Malang Sarr and Kepa Arrizabalaga.

Also notably starting was Armando Broja, who has been repeatedly linked with a move away from the club.

But reports suggested that Thomas Tuchel blocked the young striker from a West Ham transfer.

Yesterday Sterling, Kante and Mason Mount scored to help secure the friendly win over Udinese first 11.

It was an encouraging turnaround after the Blues lost on penalties to Charlotte and were battered by Arsenal.
