Watford, QPR and Sheffield United fighting it out for Will Keane transfer as Wigan demand £1m for striker

WILL KEANE is at the centre of a three-way transfer battle from Championship clubs Watford, QPR and Sheffield United.

The Wigan striker was the top scorer in League One with 26 goals last season as the Latics returned to English football’s second tier as champions.

Keane won the golden boot for League One

Keane, who is valued at £1million and has one year left on his contract, has also attracted interest from Belgian outfit Club Brugge.

The 29-year-old netted 27 times in all competitions and he won Wigan’s Players’ Player of the Year award for his stand-out performances.

Keane also picked up the golden boot for the third division.

On the feat, he said: “I’m really proud to get the golden boot.

Keane, who started his career at Manchester United and is the twin brother of Everton and England defender Michael, has been named in the Republic of Ireland squad preparing for four Nations League matches next month, starting against Armenia on June 4.
