When will Liverpool vs Crystal Palace be played, and when is the Premier League returning?

The Reds are just a few points away from securing their first top-flight title of the Premier League era – but are currently unable to claim the crown with the coronavirus pandemic closing football.

Liverpool were closing in on a first ever Premier League title when the season was delayed

Jurgen Klopp’s men endured a tough fortnight before the virus struck, with defeat against Watford ending their unbeaten run and then crashing out of the Champions League to Atletico Madrid.

Their opponents Crystal Palace look to be safe for another season after a decent campaign, and they’ve won three on the bounce without conceding.

When will Liverpool v Crystal Palace be played?

THE coronavirus outbreak has seen all football halted across the UK.

Liverpool’s dream of the title has been put on hold for the time being – and there is still debate raging on whether the season should be completed behind-closed-doors, if at all.

This pair were due to meet on Saturday, March 21 at Anfield.

Palace were the last team to beat Liverpool here in a Premier League game,  way back in April 2017 when they were sunk by a Christian Benteke double.

Kick-off was originally set for 5.30pm.

As yet, there is no confirmed date for the re-arranged game.

When is the Premier League returning?

THE Premier League has extended the delay to the 2019-20 season until April 30.

But Liverpool have been handed a huge boost in their bid to win the title with the campaign extended indefinitely.

That gives the league leaders a huge boost in their bid to win their first-ever Premier League crown amid talk the season would be voided.

The news also gives the likes of Aston Villa a chance to try to escape the relegation zone.

The statement revealed:

  • Football will not continue until safe to do so.
  • FA Board extend limit to 2019-20 season.
  • No football before April 30.
