Willian transfer will be ‘announced soon and is decided’ amid Arsenal talks after leaving Chelsea on free, admits agent

WILLIAN’S next transfer is all decided and will be announced soon, his agent confirmed.

But Kia Joorabchian refused to give away which club his client is joining.

The future of former Chelsea winger Willian is all sorted and will be announced shortly

The Brazilian winger, 32, left Chelsea as a free agent when his contract expired upon the end of the Blues’ season.

He is expected to sign a three-year deal with Arsenal with reports suggesting he had already completed a medical.

Nothing has been officially confirmed just yet, but Joorabchian insisted it will not be long before Willian’s future is known.

He told talkSPORT: “He is a free player.

“He had a fantastic seven years at Chelsea, he’s been under various managers, he’s won multiple trophies and he has a fantastic relationship with Frank [Lampard], he respected him a lot.

“But I think that cycle had come to a moment where it’s a good moment to leave.

“At the moment, just for now I cant say where he’s going to go, for sure Arsenal are one of the contenders.

“But it wont be long before we announce it. We know where he’s going, so it wont be long.”

Joorabchian also looks after Barcelona playmaker Philippe Coutinho, another player expected to be on the move this summer.

Willian’s compatriot has spent this season on loan with Bayern Munich but a return to the Premier League is on the cards, with Arsenal interested again.

But the agent refused to be drawn on where the ex-Liverpool man could be going, although did reiterate Coutinho’s dream to play in England once more.

He said: “He’s so focused on getting through the next stage. He’s looking forward to playing Barcelona and to winning the Champions League – [Bayern] have a side that has the potential to be [in the final].

“After the Champions League is finished and whatever happens then we’ll sit down.

“I haven’t even spoken to him about next year. It could be that Barcelona is the ultimate destination.

“He loves the Premier League, he wants to come to the Premier League, but finances and the situation of Covid will play a big part because he’s a big player with big numbers.”
