Casemiro was, however, heavily involved in Brazil’s colourful celebrations.

The Brazilians danced through the night, much to pundits Roy Keane and Graeme Souness’ displeasure.

Brazil will now play World Cup 2018 finalists Croatia in the quarters on Friday.

A semi-final date with Argentina or Holland will follow.

A meeting with Argentina would see the two South American countries replay the 2021 Copa America final.

Argentina ran out 1-0 winners with Angel Di Maria scoring, helping Lionel Messi secure his first senior international trophy.

Brazil star Lucas Paqueta has vowed to keep scoring and dancing.

The West Ham man hit back at Keane and Co, saying: “The dance is a representation of our joy after scoring a goal.

“We don’t do it to disrespect anyone, we don’t do it in front of our opponents.

“We all get together to celebrate. If they don’t like it, there’s not much to say.

“We’ll keep scoring goals and keep dancing. This is a group that is happy to score, to get the victory and the goals.”
