F1 pundit Karun Chandhok has opened up about a touching encounter with racing legend Michael Schumacher. Chandhok, who was making his Grand Prix debut at the time, praised Schumacher for his kindness and welcoming nature.
A Gesture of Welcome
In an interview with OLBG, Chandhok revealed that during his first F1 race in Bahrain in 2010, Schumacher took the time to greet him and wish him luck for the season. Despite being the biggest star in the sport at the time, Schumacher made Chandhok feel welcome and appreciated.

Chandhok described Schumacher as a "great guy" and a "fantastic driver." He expressed his admiration for the racing icon, stating that he always appreciated Schumacher's brilliance on and off the track.
An Offensive Joke Sparks Outrage
Unfortunately, not everyone has shown the same level of respect for Schumacher. Recently, a presenter made a grossly offensive joke about him on live TV, sparking outrage among fans. Calls have been made for the presenter to be sacked.
Schumacher's Private Battle
Schumacher suffered devastating injuries in a skiing accident in 2013 and has not been seen in public since. His condition is closely guarded by his family, and little information is available about his health. Even his friends, like former teammate Johnny Herbert, are often left in the dark.
Close Call for Chandhok
Chandhok himself recently had a scare on the track when his car burst into flames during a race. Thankfully, he managed to escape without injury, but the incident forced him to abandon the race. He expressed gratitude for his safety despite the unfortunate outcome.
