F1 star Daniel Ricciardo calls McLaren team-mate Lando Norris a ‘s***head’ FOUR TIMES in bizarre interview

DANIEL RICCIARDO accidentally called team-mate Lando Norris a s***head multiple times during an interview.

At this weekend’s French GP, the 33-year-old used the naughty Italian word on FOUR occasions, unaware of it’s true meaning.

Ricciardo awkwardly called team-mate Norris a ‘s***head’ in an Italian interview

The Aussie saw the funny side when he was told the word’s true meaning

Ricciardo – whose Dad was from Sicily before emigrating to Australia – was conducting the interview smoothly until slipping up when he was asked what he thought of Norris.

The popular driver repeated the Italian word “stronzo”, which translates to sh**head or a***hole in English.

When the reporter told him he shouldn’t say that, Ricciardo asked if it was a good word.

The interviewer informed the McLaren man it was “a bad word, more bad than good”.

Ricciardo apologised and the pair had a good laugh over the mix-up.

He did appear to be trying to pay Norris a compliment, as his team-mate was waiting in the wings behind him.

F1 fans on Twitter enjoyed the performance, laughing at the racer’s cheeky smile in response.

A user said: “Ricciardo looks like a child when they learn a swear word.”

Another quipped: “want to track down whoever told him it’s not a bad word because that person deserves a medal.”

One added: “Lando is insulted immediately.”

Norris finished ninth at the Paul Ricard Circuit, with Ricciardo just behind him in eleventh.

Max Verstappen coasted to victory to open up a huge 63 point lead in the championship after nearest rival Charles Leclerc crashed out.

Leclerc was leading until he lost control of his Ferrari and slid into the barriers at the end of lap 17.

Brit Lewis Hamilton took full advantage on his 300th GP start to snatch a well-deserved second place – his first of the season.

Hamilton made an excellent start and managed to leapfrog Sergio Perez and into third place.
