Hamilton’s preparations for the race have been marred by vile racist comments from Nelson Piquet that have surfaced

The seven-time F1 world champion arrived in style at the Worcestershire circuit as he prepares for his home race.

Hamilton posed for selfies with fans and military personnel as he took a stroll down the paddock at the circuit.

Practice at Silverstone gets underway tomorrow before lights out for the main event are at 3pm (UK time) on Sunday.

Staggeringly, Hamilton has won EIGHT out of the last nine British GP’s, but his preparation for this weekend’s race has been marred by vile racist abuse from Nelson Piquet.

The Brazilian used the N-word to describe Hamilton during an interview last year, which then went viral earlier this week.

Coincidentally the three-time world champ used the vile slur when talking about a collision between Hamilton and Max Verstappen, who is dating his daughter Kelly, at last year’s British GP.

Piquet, 69, issued a grovelling apology and is set to be banned for life from the Paddock, but denied racially abusing the Brit.

Hamilton called for F1 to take “action” after Piquet’s vile comments surfaced.

Then in a shocking Good Morning Britain interview today former F1 chief Bernie Eccleston defended Piquet’s comments and said he was “surprised” Hamilton had not “brushed it aside”.

Hamilton though revealed he was looking forward to his “homecoming” this weekend as he posted two pictures from his previous wins at Silverstone.

And Hamilton, known for making a fashion statement, looked the part as he touched down at the track.

Meanwhile Mercedes teammate George Russell opted for a more understated look.

The 24-year-old opted for a light blue hoodie as he arrived ahead of the weekend’s race.

The British Merc duo will be hoping for a good result on home soil, and will be buoyed by Hamilton’s P3 and Russell’s P4 in Canada last time out.
