LEWIS HAMILTON has been backed by dad Anthony to put in the hard graft required to beat Max Verstappen.

The reigning world champion, 36, has changed up his routine with a number of extra hours in the simulator and Mercedes factory to try and eke everything out of his car, which has been inferior to the Red Bull for much of the season.

Lewis Hamilton is chasing down a record eighth world title – and dad Anthony says he is putting in the hard graft to make it happen

And Anthony believes Lewis has the work ethic needed to pull off a comeback and win his eighth world title.
