Hamilton Denies Reaching Out
Sir Lewis Hamilton recently found himself denying rumors that he had been in contact with Christian Horner, the head of Red Bull, regarding a potential move to the team. Hamilton dismissed the claims and accused Horner of "stirring things."
Anthony Hamilton in the Mix
However, it has now emerged that Lewis Hamilton's own father, Anthony Hamilton, may have been the one in contact with Red Bull. A spokesperson for the team has stated that there was an approach made, and it was Anthony who initiated it.
A Change in Roles
Anthony Hamilton used to manage his son's career but stepped down from that role in 2010. While he is no longer part of Lewis Hamilton's management team, it seems that he still has connections and influence within the Formula 1 world.
Commitment to Mercedes
Despite the speculation and drama, Lewis Hamilton remains committed to his current team, Mercedes. He recently signed a new deal with the Silver Arrows that will keep him with the team until 2025. Hamilton confirmed his dedication to Mercedes and dismissed Horner's comments as mere attempts to create controversy.
When asked about the situation, Hamilton said, "I don’t really know where that story’s come from. I mean I know it has come from Christian [Horner]. I don’t really understand what he’s been talking about because no one from my team as far as I’m aware has spoken to him."
In regards to his previous contact with Horner, Hamilton clarified, "However, he did reach out to me earlier in the year about meeting up, but that’s it. I just congratulated them on an amazing year and said hopefully soon I’ll be able to fight against them in the near future – that was it. So I’m not really sure, I think it’s just stirring things."
