Max Verstappen Reveals F1 Retirement Plan and Breaks Silence on Lewis Hamilton’s New Contract

Verstappen not planning to follow in Hamilton's footsteps

In a recent interview, Max Verstappen, the reigning F1 champion, has revealed that he does not plan to have a career as long as his rival Lewis Hamilton. Hamilton recently signed a new £100 million contract with Mercedes, keeping him in the sport until 2025 and potentially driving into his 40s.

Verstappen focused on his passions outside of F1

Verstappen made it clear that he has already set his mind on pursuing his interests outside of Formula 1. He expressed his lack of desire to continue driving for as long as Hamilton, stating, "For me, it's not about winning seven, eight titles, nine titles. Once you've won it, it's always the same thing at the end of the day."

He also mentioned his plans and passion for other endeavors, emphasizing that F1 is not his entire life. Verstappen believes he can easily pursue other opportunities while reducing his involvement in the sport.

Verstappen's impressive record and upcoming race

Despite his retirement plans, Verstappen has been dominating the F1 circuit. At just 25 years old, he has already built a lead of 138 points in the Drivers' Championship and is on track for a third straight title. This weekend, at the Italian Grand Prix in Monza, Verstappen has the chance to make history by claiming a record-breaking 10th consecutive race victory.
