MAX VERSTAPPEN says he has no intentions of signing up for the next instalment of Drive to Survive.

The world champion did not record any behind the scenes footage for the hit Netflix show over the 2021 campaign after he branded the series “fake”.

Max Verstappen has distanced himself from the hit Netflix show

The Dutchman will not directly feature in the new season, which is launched this Friday.

And despite winning the title, Verstappen will not perform a U-turn on his decision.

He said: “No, I won’t change my mind,” when asked if he might reconsider his decision not to take part.

“I think that was already ruined after Season One. I think I’m quite a down to earth guy, and I just want it to be facts and don’t hype it up.

“I understand of course it needs to be like that for Netflix, that’s what every series on there as well or documentary or whatever you call it, it’s just not my thing.

“I’ll probably watch it and see how over the top it is, and just continue with my life. I’ll probably watch some other documentaries on Netflix.”

What is Formula 1: Drive to Survive?

Formula 1: Drive to Survive’s fourth season is released on March 11 on Netflix.

This series is no fictional tale, but the hard graft, high-octane lives and stress of those behind the scenes in F1.

It takes a look at everything from in the garages to team principals and owners as the sport travelled the globe during last season’s Championship.

With interviews and exclusive access, including within Formula 1’s own management team, the ten-episode series documents the life of F1 like fans have never seen before.
