A stunning collection of memorabilia belonging to F1 legend Michael Schumacher is set to go on auction, just days after his iconic car hit the market. The collection includes the ace's helmets, racing suits, gloves, boots, and even bottles of champagne. The German driver, who won a joint record seven world titles, suffered a severe brain injury in a skiing accident in 2013 and now lives a private life in Switzerland.

Highlights of the Auction

One of the most valuable items up for sale is a 1994 Michael Schumacher Bell Benetton Formula 1 helmet. This helmet, worn by Schumacher during the 1994 Formula 1 World Championship, is estimated to fetch £47,000. Another exciting item is an Ayrton Senna and Alain Prost signed Formula 1 Moet Champagne Bottle, which the pair signed during the 1989 Formula 1 World Championship and is expected to sell for £7,800. Two special helmets from Schumacher's career are also expected to attract bids of up to £20,000 each.

A Glimpse into Schumacher's Illustrious Career

The autographed race suit being auctioned was worn by Schumacher at the 2003 Italian Grand Prix, where he qualified in pole position and finished first overall. The collection also includes a selection of helmets from Schumacher's earliest days in karting.

RM Sotheby's Auction in Monterey, California

The entire collection, worth a staggering £1.4million, will be sold by RM Sotheby's in Monterey, California from August 17 to 19. A spokesperson for RM Sotheby's described Schumacher as a "force of nature" and emphasized the significance of this unique collection, which offers fans the chance to acquire memorabilia from the career of one of the sport's true greats.

Schumacher, who retired from the sport in 2012, left a lasting legacy and is regarded as one of the most iconic drivers in Formula 1 history.
