Mick Schumacher in horror 170mph crash with Saudi Arabian GP qualifying red-flagged as ambulance races onto track

MICK SCHUMACHER left fans with hearts in their mouths after a huge crash in qualifying for the Saudi Arabian GP.

The Haas driver lost control and smashed into a wall at the Jeddah Corniche Circuit during Q2.

Schumacher’s car was left in a mangled heap as he smashed into the wall at the side of the track at 170mph, with the session immediately red-flagged.

His momentum meant the car slid along the asphalt for some time before eventually coming to a halt.

The 23-year-old managed to take his own gloves off as he was ushered into an ambulance after the horror collision.

But as the car was lifted from the circuit it BROKE in two, highlighting the severity of the crash.

Lewis Hamilton OUT in Q1 of Saudi Arabia GP qualifying in major shock

Fans and drivers alike were quick to express their concern after seeing the awful incident.

Lewis Hamilton said: “I heard the news. I hope he’s ok.”

Meanwhile one viewer wrote on social media: “Jeeez that was nasty. Hope Mick Schumacher is ok.”

While another added: “That was an absolutely awful crash. High-speed straight into concrete. I just hope Mick Schumacher is alright. Looks horrendous.”
