CAITLYN JENNER has revealed women “deserve” the chance to be behind the wheel of a car on the Formula One grid.

The 72-year-old founded W Series team Jenner Racing earlier this year.

Caitlyn Jenner says women “deserve to be” F1 drivers

The women-only racing championship has grown in popularity since its first season in 2019 and is now a support series for eight Formula One Grands Prix races.

But while Jenner has praised the women-only events, she wants to see a woman driver offered the chance to compete in F1.

In F1’s entire history, only five women have ever actually attempted to qualify for a race.

In recent years the likes of Susie Wolff, wife of Mercedes chief Toto, Colombian driver Tatiana Calderon and Jamie Chadwick have all been employed as development or test drivers for various teams.

None of them though have actually start a GP on the grid.

Chadwick continues to be a development driver at Williams, and earlier this year signed to race for Jenner’s W Series team.

And speaking on her driver, Jenner said: “I want to help Jamie get to the next level.”
