How To

How can I improve my putting skills?

You can improve your putting by practicing. First, get great instruction from someone who has experience. We have a guide on how to find golf instructors if you don’t know anyone willing to give lessons. If you find someone you like, you can ask them if private lessons are available. To avoid conflicts between lessons, you’ll need to review their schedule.

If you’re looking for a pro shop where you can rent clubs, try one of these shops: Golf Galaxy, PING, TaylorMade, Titleist, Callaway, Cobra, Ping GOLF, Wilson, Nike, FootJoy, Scotty Cameron, and many others.

The next step after getting some instruction is to start practicing. There are two ways you can go about this. You can buy a set or putters to practice hitting balls into holes. This is great because you can use different types of putters (long irons, mid irons, wedges) depending on which type of shots you feel most comfortable with. It is important to practice enough to be proficient in putting without spending a lot on equipment.

You can also practice online by playing mini games. You can compete with other players, or you can just practice your game. Putt-Putt allows you to hit a golf ball into a hole. Other sites include TopGolf, StrokePlay, and even Wii Sports Club.

Once you have enough practice, you can move on the next step of improving your putting. You can then work on your technique. You’ll need to focus on three areas of your putting stroke, namely your grip, stance, and alignment.

Stance refers to how far back you stand when you address the ball. An error beginners often make is to stand too close the ball. As you face the ball, your body should be away from it until you start moving forward. Your feet must be about shoulder width apart with your knees slightly bent.

Your hands should be open and relaxed. Do not clench or hold onto anything. Instead, place both your hands on top your shoulders.

Your arms should not be locked down, but straight. Throughout the entire putting stroke, your arms should remain straight.

Alignment refers to how much your hips rotate as you swing through the shot. It is difficult to align your hips properly because most people rotate their hips excessively. Your knees will slightly bend when you aim for the shot. As you swing through your shot, your hips will point toward the target.

Grip is the way you place your fingers on the clubface. Many people have trouble gripping the club correctly. When you address the putt, your index finger should rest on the bottom edge of the face, while your middle finger rests on the top edge. Your ring should be placed on one side of the shaft. Your pinky finger should not be over the handle.

A new putter might be something you should consider. It’s true that not all putters work the same, but if you are having trouble with your current model, a new one might be able to help you improve your game.
