PAIGE SPIRANAC leaped to Patrick Reed’s defence after he was accused of cheating at the Farmers Insurance Open on Saturday.
The model and former pro golfer says she likes his ‘s*** talking’ and that his bullish approach is ‘good for golf’.
Controversial American Reed was involved in an incident at the Farmers Insurance Open at Torrey Pines in San Diego but has since been cleared of any wrongdoing.
More than an inch of rain fell onto the already wet course on Friday meaning the first three rounds of the tournament were played under ‘lift, clean and place’ rules when balls became embedded in the wet ground.
Green-keepers were also unable to mow the rough ahead of Saturday’s play which resulted in several players – including Rory McIlroy – taking the permitted relief.
A wild drive on the 10th hole saw Reed’s ball land in the rough and a nearby volunteer said it hadn’t bounced – even though replays showed it had meaning embedding was less likely.
Reed stooped down, picked his ball up and only then called rules official Brad Fabel over claiming it was embedded.
Fabel felt for an indentation in the ground and told him it was embedded, according to Reed.
And PGA Tour official Ken Tackett said after the round: “We’re fine with the outcome of the situation.”
However not everyone was convinced with several calling Reed a cheat online.

But former pro Spiranac tweeted to defend the 2018 Masters champion.
She wrote: “I will say Patrick Reed makes for some entertaining golf and I don’t hate that.”
And in response to a fan agreeing with her, she tweeted again: “Give me Bryson [De Chambeau], Reed and Brooks [Koepka] s*** talking all day long.
“Hate them or love them, it’s good for golf.”
Only last week, Spiranac offered three fans the chance to play a round of golf with her.
The model shared details of the new competition in a glamorous video for her 2.9million Instagram followers.
It came just a month after she challenged her followers to a virtual tournament.
She boasts an army of online supporters thanks to her revealing golf tutorials.
Spiranac was a star of the amateur circuit from a young age.
After a couple of Ladies European Tour events, which coincided with the rise of her online fame, she won a Cactus Tour match in Arizona.
However, having failed to qualify for the LPGA Tour, she quit professional playing and focused on building her online persona as a tutorial producer, podcaster and social media personality.
