The choice of trouser left Ryder’s ankles exposed as he played the event – drawing criticism from LIV rebel Mickelson.

Three-time Masters champ Lefty tweeted: “The Tour doesn’t allow shorts but does allow this week’s leader to wear joggers with ankle socks?

“Showing 4 inches of ankle?

“I’m no fashion guy, never will be, but there are some things I won’t ever understand.”

Mickelson’s comments resulted in golf’s No1 influencer, Paige, hitting back and perhaps a little below the belt.

Speaking on her Playing a Round podcast, Paige fumed: “He was showing maybe like an inch of ankle, they weren’t super tight, I thought he looked good.

“But it just shows how incredibly frustrating golf Twitter can be that they were so bothered by Sam Ryder wearing joggers.

“Also, if Phil thinks that’s four inches, I feel sorry for his wife.”

The 29-year-old blonde bombshell also admitted that she didn’t see Mickelson’s tweet first-hand as the golf star has her BLOCKED.

Ryder played well in the event, with the 33-year-old shooting a -9, which was good enough to finish joint-fourth.

Max Homa took home the win with Ryder just four strokes behind.

How do I improve my game of golf?

Improve your golf game quickly and easily with these simple tips.

  1. Play less and practice more. Practice more if you want to improve at something. If you play too much, it can lead to bad habits.
  2. You should play when you feel good. Sometimes you don’t feel like golf. Don’t force yourself into doing things you don’t enjoy. Instead, find ways to make golf enjoyable again.
  3. Take breaks. Golfers frequently take breaks during the round to stretch and walk around, or eat lunch. Breaks allow your body to relax, and help you stay focused during the round.
  4. Get water! It’s easy to lose track of how many drinks you’ve had while out on the course. Be sure to drink enough water, so you don’t get dehydrated. Drinking plenty of water before, during, and after your game will help keep you feeling refreshed and ready to hit those greens.
  5. Make sure you eat right. Eat healthy foods such fruits, vegetables, lean meat, whole grains and low-fat dairy products to give you energy, so you can perform well at the course.
  6. Stay hydrated. Drinking lots of water is the best way to stay hydrated. Aim to drink at least eight glasses per day. This includes water that is made from beverages, such as coffee, as well plain water.
  7. You should warm up properly. Begin your round by walking or running for five to ten minutes. Next, work on being loose and flexible.
  8. Keep your head down. When you tee off, it’s important to keep your eyes straight ahead. It’s important to not focus on the ball or watch where it falls. Instead, your eyes should be on the hole.
  9. You should always wear proper form when you’re dancing. Proper form could mean different things for different people. But you should try to avoid swinging at your target. Instead, you should aim to strike the ball in the center of the club face.
  10. Focus on the process. Although there are many factors that influence a successful golf swing you should be able to focus on the process. To put it another way, if your hands are not still, you can try relaxing your grip. You can also focus on your posture if balance is a problem.

How can I improve my game of golf without having to practice?

Practicing is essential to improving your game. You can still improve your game even if you don’t have the time or resources for consistent drills. Just remember that it’s important to put in the effort to practice what your intention is. You should play fast if you want to play faster. The same goes for if your goal is to hit the target further.
