Terrifying Moment Golfer Stalked by Hyena on Golf Course in South Africa

A golfer in South Africa had a frightening experience as he was followed by a wild hyena while walking across the Skukuza Golf Club, located in the Kruger National Park. A video of the incident was shared on the course's Facebook page.

Unfazed Golfer Continues to Smile as Hyena Sneaks Up

In the video, the golfer can be heard joking, "Got a new caddie on the golf course," while the hyena calmly walks behind him. Despite the potentially dangerous situation, the golfer remains completely unfazed.

"Looking for something to chew," joked one Facebook follower, while another commented on how quickly the golfer walked on the course. Some expressed concern, stating that playing golf in such an environment could be unsafe.

Course Workers Address Safety Concerns

In a FAQ clip, employees at the golf course explained that they take precautions to ensure the safety of players. Flags are set up around the course to deter animals from approaching. The employees also stated that they conduct drive-arounds in the early morning to check for any dangerous animals.

If any are found, the rangers are called to chase them away. However, the employees assured followers that there have been no incidents involving animals on the course.

Other Wildlife Spotted at Skukuza Golf Club

In addition to hyenas, the golf course is also home to a variety of other wildlife. Videos shared by the staff have shown a lion chewing on a sprinkler and a pride of lions watching from the side of the course. Hippos have also been filmed fighting with one another, with one video capturing a third hippo observing the brawl.
