TIGER WOODS still intimidates the hell out of young golfers.
Just ask Robert MacIntyre, who got a lot closer to the 15-time Major champion than he wanted to at The Masters.
Golf legend Tiger Woods still strikes fear into younger opponents
Tiger will be the centre of attention once again at the US PGA this week
MacIntyre, who will be teeing it up at this week’s USPGA, was playing in the group ahead of Woods in the third round at Augusta last month.
And after smashing his drive at the difficult 11th hole into an unplayable lie, the Scottish star had to head back to the tee and hit again under the gaze of his boyhood hero.
MacIntyre, 25, recalled: “I wasn’t wanting to go back!
“I’d hit a bad tee shot and there was a small tree. I thought I could advance it forward, but my caddie Mike said: ‘You can’t take that on’.

“I said: ‘I’m not going back to the tee. I know HE’S there’. But I took the penalty.
“When I got back to the tee I didn’t even look at Tiger, or his playing partner, Kevin Kisner.
“I just tried to convince myself he’s just another man and luckily I hit a good one down the fairway.
“Tiger is the only man that I will be in awe of playing with.
“Just seeing him at Augusta was wild. I stood on the putting green on the Monday or Tuesday and it was like a herd coming!

“You could hear the rumble. It was totally different. The attention on the event was unbelievable.”
That level of excitement is being matched at Southern Hills in Tulsa, venue for this week’s USPGA, the second Major of the year.
Woods won this tournament when it was held here in 2008.
The American has been mobbed during his practice rounds and is ready to take centre stage again when he holds his press conference Tuesday.
