USA Players Vote to Ban Netflix Golf Series Full Swing from Ryder Cup Team Meetings

USA Players Limit Access for Full Swing Cameras

USA players have voted to ban popular Netflix golf series Full Swing from team meetings at the Ryder Cup. The 2021 winners are limiting access for the documentary show cameras for the match against Europe in Rome, starting on September 25.

Zach Johnson Asks Players to Vote

USA skipper Zach Johnson asked his players to vote and they decided to limit the cameras for Netflix series Full Swing at this month's Ryder Cup. Johnson said: "It was one of those where we all gathered. I talked to every individual and laid out scenarios. And they all felt like it was best to navigate that week of the tournament in a manner which the sanctity and sacredness of Team USA is preserved. We're eliminating scenarios."

Privacy and Team Sanctity

Seth Waugh, CEO for the PGA of America, said: "All things involving the team we leave to the team and the captain. I think there's a sanctity to the team room, and the experience is important to them. It's part of being a team, right?" He added that while Netflix has been great for the game, the team collectively decided that there are areas of privacy that need to be respected.

Full Swing Cameras Will Still be at the Ryder Cup

Cameras for the second series of Full Swing WILL still be at the Ryder Cup. However, the meeting ban might impinge on how much of the event the documentary makers choose to record.
