Watch fuming Rory McIlroy throw fan’s remote control golf ball into water before security kick supporter out

THIS is the moment furious Rory McIlroy THREW a fan’s remote control golf ball into water.

That’s before security promptly escorted the joker away.

Rory McIlroy was not happy when a remote controlled golf ball got on the course

McIlroy finally grabbed hold of the ball before launching it into water

McIlroy, 33, was competing in the third round of the BMW Championship when the bizarre incident occurred.

Lining up a putt at the 15th hole, the Northern Irish star was interrupted when a punter chucked a golf ball onto the field.

Amusingly, the ball then began to move around by itself, with the cheeky prankster controlling it remotely from the sides.

But McIlroy failed to see the funny side ahead during the second tournament of the FedEx Cup playoffs.

As the ball darted around his feet, McIlroy attempted to block it with his putter.

He succeeded when the fan failed to control the ball into the hole.

McIlroy then stared at the wag before hurling the gadget with all his might.

There was no mistaking where he had intended to throw it.

The prankster controlling the ball was escorted away by security

That’s because the ball plonked straight into an open lake of water next to the course.

McIlroy triumphantly watched on as the owner of the remote controlled ball became upset.

But the comedian had little time to protest as security quickly descended before hauling him off the green.

The man was jeered by the crowd as he was taken away.

But the moment appeared to get to McIlroy, who ended up missing his birdie at the hole.

However, he pulled things back later on to finish with a 70 for the round.

And McIlroy is just five shots off leader Patrick Cantlay.
