Adam West Makes Bold Decision with Star Sprinter Live In The Dream Ahead of Breeders’ Cup

Route to Santa Anita

Epsom trainer Adam West is not giving up on his Breeders' Cup dream just yet. He has been meticulously planning the path to Santa Anita for his shock Nunthorpe winner, Live In The Dream.

Skip the Prix de l'Abbaye

In a surprising move, West has decided to skip the Prix de l'Abbaye on Arc day and instead take an early shot at the Americans. Live In The Dream will compete in the Woodford Stakes at Keeneland on October 7.

Aiming for the Top

After his blazing victory at York's big Group 1 sprint, Live In The Dream will fly out to Kentucky next Thursday. He will face some of the top US sprinters, including reigning Turf Sprint winner Caravel.

Preparation and Excitement

West will make a quick 48-hour visit to Keeneland next month to oversee the preparations. He is thrilled with Live In The Dream's recent racecourse gallop at Chelmsford and confident in his abilities. "The big day will be a few weeks later at Santa Anita, where the sharp five furlongs will be perfect for him," West said.

Preparing for American Racing

To prepare for the American racing style, West has been doing gate work and practicing with bell starts. He took Live In The Dream to Chelmsford to work on the turf around a bend and was delighted with the results.

Countdown to the Breeders' Cup

West and Live In The Dream will join the Kentucky-based American horses on the flight to Los Angeles in readiness for the Breeders' Cup on November 4. "I can't believe how quickly it's coming around, we are all incredibly excited," West added.
