Arc de Triomphe: John Gosden still unable to attend Enable Arc bid despite new travel exemptions

, Arc de Triomphe: John Gosden still unable to attend Enable Arc bid despite new travel exemptions

JOHN Gosden will still have to watch Enable’s historic Arc bid from the comfort of his sofa despite new exemptions brought in.

On Tuesday, the BHA announced that professionals travelling to Paris could be exempt from full quarantine on their return to the UK.

Enable is now as short as 6-4 to win the Arc after the rain fell in France

But it means Gosden would still have to miss the sales in Newmarket the following week as the rule only covers racedays and training on the gallops.

The trainer confirmed he could not miss Tattersalls Book 1 and 2 that gets underway on October 6.

For the likes of Frankie Dettori, Ryan Moore and Jim Crowley it was good news as they are free to ride at Future Champions Weekend the following weekend.

But for Andrea Atzeni and Oisin Murphy it was too late in the day for them to pick up Arc rides on Stradivarius and Deirdre.

It’s expected that Jamie Spencer will step in to ride Japanese superstar Deirdre.
