BIG 14-1 outsider First Flow announced himself as the new kid on the block after stunning favourite Politologue to land the £60,000 Clarence House Chase at Ascot.
Jockey David Bass put in a superb performance to fend off the advances of the 11-8 favourite on a gruelling slog for the line.
But hold on he did for trainer Kim Bailey – making it a stunning SIXTH straight win in the process.
Delighted Bass said: “It means a lot. I’m so pleased it’s this horse. Everyone loves him at home.
“He’s a real character. His owner has been loyal to me and the whole yard and I can’t believe it.
“I couldn’t believe how easy I was going behind Politologue.
“He winged the fences down the hill – it’s amazing because he’s not the most natural jumping at home.
“He’s a classy animal and he can now handle all sorts of ground. It’s just brilliant.”
First Flow’s odds for the Champions Chase at Cheltenham were slashed from 50-1 to 12-1.
