BOOKIES are terrified of Frankie Dettori having a Fantastic Friday at York.

It is 25 years since the world’s most famous jockey pulled off the Magnificent Seven at Ascot.

Dettori, 50, is only down to ride twice at the prestigious Ebor meeting on Friday – but two big results could have bookies weeping all over again.

First up is superstar stayer Stradivarius.

The John and Thady Gosden-trained wonderhorse, whose career earnings sit at just under £3million, was pulled out of the Goodwood Cup due to the going.

Before that he finished a disappointing fourth to Subjectivist when 5-6 favourite to land the Gold Cup at Royal Ascot a fourth time.

He looks set to have his favoured good ground at York – which could rule out big rival Trueshan.

Stradivaruis is currently evens to win the Weatherbys Hamilton Lonsdale Cup Stakes and £85,000 first-place prize at 2.25 on Friday.

That comes just over an hour before Dettori also gets the leg up on Wesley Ward’s Golden Pal.

The American raider has already been the subject of a surge of market support, coming into 5-2 from 4-1 after Dettori posted a video of himself with the horse.

That’s put him second-favourite behind Glorious Goodwood winner Suesa in the Nunthorpe Stakes, where the winner will pocket £226,840.

Coral’s David Stevens said: “Having missed the Goodwood Cup, Stradivarius will be a warm order to win another Weatherbys Hamilton Lonsdale Cup, particularly with the good going likely to rule out big rival Trueshan.

“The stayer’s jockey Frankie Dettori could also be a big factor in Golden Pal being sent off favourite for the Wootton Bassett Coolmore Nunthorpe over Suesa, on what could be a fantastic Friday for the Italian.”

Dettori’s busiest book of rides looks to come on Thursday, after one ride on Sir Lucan on Wednesday, the first day.

He is down to ride 14-1 Outside World, 7-1 Magical Morning, 11-1 Loving Dream, plus Pennymoor and Star Of Emaraaty.

Dettori’s Magnificent Seven was estimated to have cost bookies £10million
