THIS is the brutal moment a horse stamps on helpless jockey Joshua Moore following his horror Ascot fall.

Fortunately both rider and horse Early Du Lemo escaped from the incident unhurt.

But the worst moment for Moore, who has won more than £1.2million during his career, was not the fall itself.

It was the hoof to the back of the neck he took as the 15-2 shot got back to his feet in the 2m 3f Class 2 race over fences.

The duo had been travelling well up until that point and were in touch with the leaders.

But disaster struck for the Gary Moore-trained runner when he lost all composure at the seventh fence.

Speaking of the fall on ITV Racing, legendary jockey AP McCoy said: “He just did nothing there. He just dived at it and got a very heavy fall.

“Luckily both him and Joshua are OK but it was a pretty nasty fall.”

And noticing the stamp, co-host Mick Fitzgerald said: “That’s nice as well! Just as he’s getting up!”

Moore was replaced by his brother Jason for his ride on Botox Has in the 3.35.

Photos showed Joshua walking away from the incident but he took no chances on falling again by giving away his ride later in the afternoon.

Those watching at home had nothing but admiration for the bravery of the jockey.

One said: “Glad to see him getting up after the fall, especially after seeing the kick he got as an unwanted bonus!”

Another commented: “Incredible close-up shots of Josh Moore’s crunching fall.

“You can see him slowly auditing his body, coming back to reality after the shock of hitting the ground, realising he can stand up with nothing broken.

“They are so brave and tough, these jumps jockeys.”

A fellow Twitter user posted: “Watching pictures like that you realise that you do need to be a certain type of bonkers to ride over jumps.”
