, Carnage at Sandown as London National is declared void as jockeys fail to stop after injury to Houblon Des Obeaux

SANDOWN’s Tingle Creek card ended on a sombre note as popular chaser Houblon Des Obeaux suffered a serious injury.

The London National is also set to be voided after jockeys failed to stop for the yellow flag.

Stewards made the decision to bring out the yellow flag after it was deemed unsafe for the field to continue on their course as the bend was too tight with Houblon Des Obeaux being treated on the track.

However, the jockeys failed to stop for the flag and took a detour before finishing the race when a Stewards Inquiry was called straight away with the race expected to be declared void.
