CHACUN Pour Soi laid down a serious Champion Chase marker with a bloodless victory at Leopardstown.
Willie Mullins’ star chaser breezed to an effortless win in the Grade 1 Paddy’s Rewards Club Chase.
And the bookies slashed his odds for the two-mile championship at Cheltenham in March, with Paddy Power cutting him into 7-4 from 11-4.
He barely had to break out of second gear to put away some top rivals.
He cruised through the race under Paul Townend and picked his way through the field in the back straight.
Notebook tried to go with him into the final fence, but Chacun Pour Soi emerged with a two length advantage following a flying leap.
That was game over and he was able to canter home for an six and a half length success, with Notebook just holding off last season’s Arkle winner Put The Kettle On for second.
