Champions Day: Oxted has his mojo back ahead of QIPCO Champions Sprint bid at Ascot for Roger Teal and Fallon Jr

JULY Cup hero Oxted has his mojo back ahead of a crack at Champions Day.

Roger Teal’s sprinter has been off the track since his maiden Group 1 win following a setback.

Oxted was a popular winner at the July Meeting as he provided Teal and Fallon Jr with their maiden Group 1 wins

But his trainer reports him to be in top nick ahead of the six furlong dash on Saturday.

He provided Cieren Fallon Jr with his first top-level success at Newmarket and the pair will be reunited at Ascot in the QIPCO British Champion Sprint.

Lambourn based Teal said: “He looks amazing and is still keeping his coat, which is great.

“He’s training really well and seems to have that mojo back and we’re really happy with him.

“He’s had a massive impact on the yard, putting us right in the shop window. Winning a Group 1 was amazing and hopefully we’ve got a few more to come.

“We’ve always been happy to compete with the best, that’s what we’re here for.

“We’ve always danced the dance with the big boys, and we’ve come out on top a few times and that’s where we want to be.”

Oxted is a 6-1 chance with Betway after Monday’s entry stage, with Dream Of Dreams the 13-8 favourite and One Master next in at 5-1.

A total of 19 remain in contention with Onassis and Jouska supplemented after their weekend wins.
