THE ITV crew are putting on a Thursday special this week and the best of the bunch comes from Ireland.
The Grade 2 Clonmel Oil Chase is a high-class affair and as always, Willie Mullins has the warm favourite.
His Cilaos Emery looks the one to side with on his comeback run.
He’s short enough in the betting, but in my book should be an odds-on shot and his class should shine through.
He went back over hurdles last season and his campaign ended with a solid fourth in the Champion Hurdle.
A transfer of that form over to fences here and he should get the business done.
He steps up in trip to two-and-a-half miles for the first time so he has a slight doubt to prove on stamina.
But there’s been little to suggest he won’t stay an extra four furlongs and the soft ground is no worry whatsoever.
Stablemate Bachasson looks the big danger and his owners will be praying the ground comes up testing.
Like Cilaos Emery he goes well fresh, and as the betting suggests he is the big threat.
His best run has come over this course and distance but he’s never beat anything of the class of Cilaos Emery.
Snow Falcon would be top of my list when it comes to the supposed outsiders.
He showed up okay on his comeback run behind The Storyteller and he’s back to his preferred trip.
Mortal and Alpha Des Obeaux shouldn’t be good enough to win this given those at the top of the market.
Meanwhile Paloma Blue is probably short enough in the betting, but has had the benefit of some racing over the summer and into last month.
But again, he should fall short of troubling the favourite.
