THIS is the stunning moment Fantasy Believer came home after being matched at 999/1.
The Irish four-year-old was in last place at Kempton on Wednesday and was matched at £13 on the Betfair exchange – before coming in and costing the bookies a near £13,000 pay out.
Kieran Shoemark rode the Charles Hill trained horse, and was six lengths back of the field at the start and still last around the final bend.
But he came into his own in the final 100 yards and took the stunning victory.
Betfair took £13 worth of bets at 999/1 on the exchange, meaning a pay out of £12,883.
Shoemark told Racing TV: “He’s falling into the habit of missing the break but it’s probably done me a favour as we would have been involved in the frantic early gallop.
“He was able to settle sitting last. They’ve gone very quick and it’s fallen into his lap. I wouldn’t say I was never really happy during the race.
“Turning in they were about 15 lengths ahead of me and I thought I’d try to latch onto the pack. “Once he passed one, he gained confidence and went for the next one. It was a good effort.”
