Although not widely known among British racing fans, Eurico Rosa Da Silva is considered racing royalty in Canada. He became champion jockey seven times on the other side of the Atlantic, with four consecutive wins from 2015 until his retirement in 2019.

Da Silva revealed that his successful career on the track was marred by a sex addiction, causing him to lead a double life. Speaking on the Down The Stretch podcast, he said, "I was a sex addict for many, many years. I have fought this all my adult life. Whenever things weren't going well for me, I just went to a hooker. It was like punishment for myself." He admitted that this addiction took a toll on his finances and caused him to despise himself for years.
A Turnaround and Continued Success
After marrying his second wife in 2016, Da Silva believes he overcame his addiction, which is evident in his performance on the track. He continued to be crowned champion jockey in 2017, 2018, and 2019, adding to his previous titles in 2010, 2013, and 2015.
