, Frankie Dettori compares 5-4 Epsom Oaks favourite Emily Upjohn to Enable after dominant York win

FRANKIE DETTORI compared Emily Upjohn to the legendary Enable after her Musidora Stakes romp.

The unbeaten filly is now the red-hot 5-4 favourite for the Oaks after passing her biggest test to date with flying colours.

Emily Upjohn is 5-4 for the Oaks after her easy York win

Dettori, who was grinning from ear to ear after the race, admitted to a few restless nights in the build-up to the key Classic trial.

But, as it turned out, the Italian had little to worry about as his filly pulled clear in the straight for an easy win.

The Italian said: “Thank God, we can sleep nicely tonight!

“Every race she is improving and we have liked her from day one.

“At this stage in their careers, she is probably on the same par as Enable.”

Dettori, 51, made his debut on the silver screen this year, while Emily Upjohn is named after a character from the Oscar-nominated film A Day At The Races.

And when they team up they are nothing short of Box Office, with two wins this season coming by an aggregate of 15 lengths.

The filly also earned rave reviews from her trainer John Gosden, who is keen to take her for sighter of Epsom at their ‘Breakfast With The Stars’ gallops morning later this month.

He said: “There is no reason why we won’t go and get a sausage and some baked beans at Epsom and give her a canter around there.

“She is well balanced so I see no reason why the track at Epsom would be a problem, but it won’t do us any harm to give her a look around.

“She is expressive, she likes to show off and enjoy herself, but she will have learned plenty today.

“I would say she is in the same class as The Fugue, who won the Musidora a few years back. She is a very talented filly.”

Earlier on the card, Highfield Princess bagged the Group 2 Duke Of York Stakes for trainer John Quinn and jockey Jason Hart.

She will now head straight to Royal Ascot for the Platinum Jubilee, with Hills slashing her odds for the Group 1 into 12s from 100-1.
