, Frankie Dettori makes Racing League debut on Thursday after dressing up with wife Catherine for William Buick’s wedding

FRANKIE DETTORI will make his eagerly-anticipated Racing League debut this Thursday.

The world’s most famous jockey, 50, will head to Doncaster – after celebrating William Buick’s wedding on Sunday.

Dettori and wife Catherine scrubbed up well for rival jockey Buick’s wedding

Dettori posted a photo of himself suited and booted alongside loyal wife and mother of his five children, Catherine, over the weekend.

Buick, leading jockey at Glorious Goodwood, looked to have a brilliant time with new wife Jane and their young son Thomas.

It was back to work for Buick on Monday, however – and the same for Dettori on Thursday.

He will make his bow in the blockbuster new £2million competition for Team Newmarket Red.

They are the early leaders after week one, despite not winning a race at Newcastle.

Dettori will get the leg up on three rides at Donny, linking up with Robert Cowell and John and Thady Gosden.

Autumn Flight is Dettori’s ride in the opening sprint contest.

He will ride the Gosdens’ Sir Edward Elgar and Pitcher’s Point later on that night, where every race is worth £50,000.

Dettori’s Newmarket Red team-mate Jamie Spencer also makes his debut with rides on Yazaman, Rovaniemi and Man Of Riddles.

Team talkSPORT are in second place after the first round and their fourth jockey Ray Dawson is set for a busy night.

The 3lb claimer has five mounts in the absence of Hollie Doyle, Cieren Fallon and Jack Mitchell.

Dettori will no doubt be eager to show the young pups how it’s done, especially after leading daughter Ella down to her first ever race last week.

Ella, 19, competed in the charity Magnolia Cup race at Glorious Goodwood last Thursday.

Honours were shared between Gosden’s daughter Thea and freelance rider Candida Crawford in a dramatic dead-heat.

She might not have won, but Ella said she was just happy she did her dad ‘proud’.
