Frankie Dettori to Miss Final Race at Ascot, but Leaves with Strong Book of Rides

Legendary Jockey Frankie Dettori Signs Off from British Racing

Frankie Dettori, the legendary Italian jockey, will bid farewell to British racing with a strong book of rides at Ascot on Saturday. However, he will not be participating in all six races, as he has chosen to sign off in the Champion Stakes in the penultimate race.

Shock U-Turn on Retirement Plans

The 52-year-old recently shocked fans by announcing a u-turn on his retirement plans. Instead of retiring, he will continue riding full-time in the US next year. Despite the potential allure of Wesley Ward-trained horses at Royal Ascot, Dettori has made it clear that Saturday will be his final rides in Britain.

Promising Chances of Winning Rides

Dettori's farewell at Ascot promises to be a memorable one, as he is set to have a strong chance of winning rides. He is currently jocked up on two horses, Trawlerman in the Long Distance Cup and Free Wind in the Fillies and Mares Stakes. Both horses present promising opportunities for Dettori.

Possible Rides in Champions Sprint and King Of Steel

Dettori will also have three more rides on the card, and he is almost certain to ride Kinross should he choose to head to the Champions Sprint. King Of Steel is another possible ride for Dettori, with Kia Joorabchian wanting to give him his final ever ride in Britain.

This year's Derby second, King Of Steel, has been performing well in defeat since, but may not be suited by a soft-ground Ascot.
