Frankie Dettori's Last Ride
Frankie Dettori, the iconic jockey, is set to close his 36-year racing career in Britain with a ride on King Of Steel in the Champion Stakes at Ascot.
Filling the Void
Dettori will be taking over from Kevin Stott as the jockey of choice for King Of Steel. Stott was let go by superagent Kia Joorabchian due to undisclosed reasons last month.
Returning to Familiar Silks
Joorabchian and Dettori have a longstanding friendship and professional relationship. The pair have previously teamed up for successful races, and it seems Joorabchian will turn to the legendary jockey for Champions Day at Ascot.
High Hopes at Ascot
King Of Steel is currently priced at 6-1 to win the Champion Stakes, with a first-place prize of £740,000. If successful, this could be a triumphant sendoff for Dettori.
New Beginnings
With Stott out of the picture, Joorabchian is on the lookout for a new No1 jockey. There are rumors that Dettori could be a top contender, particularly if a lucrative retainer is offered.
A Legendary Career Comes to a Close
Dettori's final race in the UK will mark the start of his global farewell tour. After Ascot, he plans to race in the US, Australia, Hong Kong, and possibly Japan. Retirement is on the horizon, but Dettori has hinted that a "stupid" offer could make him reconsider.
Future Plans
Aside from his racing career, Dettori has also been rumored to appear on the popular reality show I'm A Celebrity. However, his success at Ascot may open up even more exciting opportunities for the legendary jockey.
