Ryan Moore Admits Inspiral Will Be Tough Competition in Group 1 Sun Chariot Stakes
In this weekend's highly-anticipated Group 1 Sun Chariot Stakes at Newmarket, jockey Frankie Dettori has a chance to secure a historic 500th win at the prestigious racecourse. However, Dettori's biggest rival, Ryan Moore, acknowledges that it won't be an easy task, especially with Inspiral in the mix.
Long Gap Since Dettori's Last Victory in the Sun Chariot
Newmarket has been a happy hunting ground for Dettori throughout his career, but when it comes to the Sun Chariot Stakes, he has only tasted victory once, way back in 1992. This year, he aims to bridge that 21-year gap, but Moore believes it won't be a walk in the park.

Riding for Aidan O'Brien, Moore will pilot Meditate in the race. While he admits that Inspiral will be tough to defeat if she brings her A-game, Moore remains confident in his own mount. He explains, "Any drying of the ground will be in my filly's favour and she hopefully showed she was on the way back in first-time blinkers in the Matron Stakes last time. She has a fighting chance against the top two, if at her best."
Ryan Moore's Best Bets
Aside from his ride on Meditate, Moore has two other noteworthy contenders on the card. Whispering Words, a rare ride for Charlie Appleby and Godolphin, seems promising over the 1m2f distance. Moore also fancies Decoration, who he believes has plenty of improvement left in her.
The Other Ride for Frankie Dettori
While Dettori focuses on his milestone chase, he also has another ride in the 1m4f fillies' handicap. Queen Emma put in a respectable performance at Doncaster last time, and with potential for further progression, she should not be underestimated.
