Gina Bryce snubs Ruby Walsh in hilarious Paddy Power quiz moment ahead of Cheltenham

GINA BRYCE was left red-faced when she snubbed record holding Cheltenham champion jockey Ruby Walsh – right in front of his face.

The well-known face of racing coverage was taking part in an Ireland vs UK Paddy Power quiz.

But Bryce, with the aid of Mark Chapman, took an inadvertent jab at Walsh during a quick fire question round.

Bryce, who fronts Sky Sports Racing coverage, stood with Team Britain alongside commentator Simon Holt and Sun Racing columnist Matt Chapman.

Her opposition featured Walsh, former jockey Mick Fitzgerald and Jane Mangan who fronts Ireland’s horse racing coverage on RTE television.

However, when Bryce took up her spot to play a ‘taboo’ style guessing game where her team needed to guess who she was describing, AP McCoy’s name popped up on screen.

The rivalry between McCoy and Ruby Walsh was well documented throughout the years, and although the jockeys were firm friends, they were fierce competitors in the saddle.

So when Bryce described McCoy as “the greatest jockey of all time”, Matt Chapman instantly guessed AP McCoy, leaving Ruby looking less than impressed with Chapman’s slight, and everyone else on the panel rolling with laughter.
