CHAMPION stayer Stradivarius lived up to the title with a record fourth win in the Goodwood Cup.
The star six-year-old got his legendary jockey Frankie Dettori out of trouble to win a thriller on the opening day of the Glorious meeting.
He was imperious when winning a third Gold Cup at Royal Ascot last month, but the punters who took the 4-7 about him were put through the wringer this time.
Dettori spent most of the home straight looking for room, with Nayef Road and Santiago battling it out up top.
The gap finally appeared a furlong from home and Stradivarius unleashed his trademark turn of foot to gallop into the history books.
