Grand National hero Tiger Roll odds slashed from 14-1 to 11-2 for Irish version after snubbing Aintree race

GRAND NATIONAL hero Tiger Roll has seen his odds slashed for the Irish version of the race.

The Gigginstown horse won’t run at Aintree after being withdrawn following a spat over his weight.

Tiger Roll is the big favourite for the Irish Grand National… if he runs

But the two-time champion is set to run at Fairyhouse on Easter Monday and has seen his odds plummet in recent days.

Tiger Roll was among the horses still included at the five-day declarations stage today.

He is currently 11-2 after being available at a huge 14-1 in recent weeks.

The horse, who is now under Denise ‘Sneezy’ Foster while Gordon Elliott serves his ban from the sport, could also run in the Betway Bowl at Aintree.

Ryanair boss Michael O’Leary, who owns the horse with brother Eddie, is yet to make a call on where their stable superstar will race.

But wherever he goes he will arrive in top form having blown away rivals to win the Cross Country Chase at Cheltenham Festival.

The 11-year-old looked as fit as ever as he cruised to a fifth Festival success by a stunning 18 lengths.

Latest Exhibition and Sempo – Joseph O’Brien’s runner who is already the subject of a hefty gamble – are second favourites for the Irish race at 7-1.

Sempo has never won over fences but has seen his price fall after originally being 33-1.

Speaking of his money horse, O’Brien told the Racing Post: “Experience is obviously the main worry for Sempo in a race like the Irish Grand National but he was a classy novice hurdler and was unlucky more than anything on his first few chase runs for us when he unseated a couple of times.

“The year hasn’t gone right for him and he deserves a change of luck.

“He has only completed in three of his five chase starts so it will be a big ask for him.

“At the same time, there is a lot of money on offer and he has been placed in a Graded race last time. If he can get into a rhythm he would have a big chance.”
