How backing the winner in the 3.35pm at Ascot on Saturday could land you £1MILLION

WELL, 2020 has been a complete write off – but 2021 could be about to get off to a stormer.

Covid vaccines are saving the nation, the Euros are coming to Wembley in the summer and now £1MILLION could be about to land in your bank account on New Year’s Day.

That’s because Paddy Power have launched a bumper sweepstake called the Millionaire Chase that will make one lucky entrant – you guessed it – a millionaire on New Year’s Day.

The winning horse’s backer in the New Year’s Day race will take home the bumper top prize of £1m, but all other entrants will all pocket £10,000 just for getting into the final – not a bad way to consign 2020 to the past!

The horses may be taking on the hurdles, but there’s no giant leaps required to enter this competition.

Everyone’s got a chance to win the top prize – and the final opportunity to get involved in the qualifying rounds takes place this weekend.

To be in with a chance of landing the £1m you have to back the winning horse in the 3.35pm at Ascot this Saturday.

Entry is simple. All you need to do is create an account or log in via Paddy’s app or at paddypower.com, then, OPT IN to the competition and back the winner in the qualifying race.

If you nail all that then you’re in the hat for the weekly draw which is streamed live on Paddy Power’s social channels at 6pm on Monday to reveal who has drawn the next horse in the Millionaire Chase sweepstake.

There’s been five weekly winners so far – and this Saturday’s race is the final qualifier the January 1 race.

Not sure who to back? Well, top TV tipster Matt Chapman and legendary jockey Ruby Walsh have served up their selections below.

SunSport columnist Chappers said: “This is a wide open handicap hurdle over nearly 2m. I’ll give the Anthony Honeyball runner KID COMMANDO another chance here despite him disappointing a little at Haydock last time.

Legendary jockey Walsh said: “BENSON is the one for me. I thought he was value for a bit more than his winning margin at Sandown the last day.”
